You’ve Taken Every Test. You Still Don’t Have an Answer.
You’ve done the work.
You took Myers-Briggs. You got your four letters. You read the description and thought, that’s kind of me. Then you went back to feeling lost.
You tried StrengthsFinder. You got your top five. You nodded along. Then wondered why knowing your strengths didn’t actually make you feel stronger.
Maybe you did DiSC. Maybe you did the Enneagram. Maybe you did all of them. You collected results like puzzle pieces that never quite formed a complete picture.
And somewhere in the middle of all that testing, a quiet thought crept in.
What if the problem is me?
It wasn’t. It never was.
The problem was that every single one of those tools was answering the wrong question.
Observations aren’t revelations.
Here’s what those assessments actually do. They watch how you behave and give that behavior a name.
Myers-Briggs calls you an introvert. DiSC calls you a high C. StrengthsFinder calls you an achiever. Enneagram gives you a number tied to your fear pattern.
Those aren’t revelations. They’re observations. They’re describing the river without ever showing you the source of the spring.
You already knew you were introverted before you took the test. You already knew you were analytical. You already knew you were driven. The label confirmed what you could already see on the surface. It didn’t show you anything underneath.
And underneath is where the real answer lives.
Here’s what surface-level misses.
Call someone an introvert and watch what happens when they discover their ING type and connect it to something they genuinely care about.
That introvert who avoids attention and drains quickly in social situations? Put them in front of a room full of people talking about the thing they’re wired for and they won’t stop. They’re not performing extroversion. They’re operating from their ING energy. The label doesn’t apply anymore because the label was only ever describing behavior. It wasn’t describing the source of the behavior.
That’s what every other tool misses. Behavior shifts depending on context. Wiring doesn’t.
Your ING type is constant. It doesn’t change based on the room you’re in or the role you’re playing. It’s the source everything else flows from. Your values, your communication, your relationships, your leadership, your love. All of it comes from the same place.
When you understand that place, the behavior finally makes sense. Not just as a label. As a life-giving force.
The question nobody else is asking.
Myers-Briggs doesn’t tell you how to feel fulfilled as an introvert. It just tells you that you are one.
StrengthsFinder doesn’t tell you why achieving still leaves you empty sometimes. It just confirms you’re good at it.
DiSC doesn’t show you what joy looks like for your type. It shows you how you interact.
Enneagram gets closer than most. But it’s still built around fear patterns. It shows you what you’re running from. ING energy shows you what you’re running toward.
There are seven ING energy types: perceive ING, serve ING, teach ING, encourage ING, give ING, lead ING, and mercy ING.
Each one reveals not just how you’re wired but how that wiring connects to fulfillment and joy. That’s not a small distinction. That’s the whole distinction.
Every other tool describes you. ING energy shows you how to thrive as you.
Why nothing fully fit.
You felt close with some of those results because they were observing something real. Your behavior is real. Your patterns are real. The descriptions weren’t completely wrong.
They were just incomplete.
An incomplete answer leaves you stuck. You’ve settled long enough. And the right question was never “how do I behave?” It was always “why am I wired this way and how do I live from that place in a way that actually fills me up?”
That’s the question ING energy answers.
What changes when you have the right language.
One person described it as finally being handed the translation for something they’d been living their whole life without being able to explain.
That’s what shifts. Not your behavior. Not your circumstances. Your understanding of why you do what you do and what it looks like when you do it from a place of fulfillment instead of friction.
You stop collecting labels and start living from your source.
Your next step.
